Many Filipinos suffer from abnormal body mass
index especially for children. They can either be underweight, overweight, or
worse obese. In the other hand, during the month of July, we celebrate
Nutrition Month to improve one’s health.
Every school promotes optimum health
through this month celebration. School canteens advocate to sell healthy foods
to students and doesn’t tolerate junkfoods and softdrinks. This is a very good
practice and should be maintained.
Nutrition month is an
annual campaign held every July as mandated by PD 491 also known as Nutrition
Act of the Philippines that aims to create greater awareness among us,
Filipinos on the importance of nutrition. Eating healthy food like fruits and
vegetables, and having a balance diet is important in developing one’s self
participating actively in physical activities to strengthen their body.
Your health is a very important factor in your life. Eat healthy and be active in life. Promote and practice healthy lifestyle through healthy eating and being active in sports to
achieve a longer life.
