Christmas is Christ Mass

Merry Christmas... We greet each other "Merry Christmas" but do we greet Jesus with a "Happy Birthday"?

Let's not forget the true essence of Christmas. You give and receive gifts. You prepare various delicious dishes. Having Christmas carolings. Attending parties. But those are just part of the celebration. It's the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! HAPPY  BIRTHDAY JESUS!

End VAW Now

Violence Against Women and their Children or the VAWC is a serious topic which needs attention and appropriate action. But sad to say, cases of violence aren't often reported.

Fear.

Misery.

Hatred.

Disgust.

People are scared. Afraid to stand up for themselves,a thinking that they're just women and innocent children. But they're not just women and children, they are women and children. They're human. And we are all equal.

In terms of rights, privileges, opportunities, Man=Woman. Always.

"We’ve begun to raise daughters more like sons… but few have the courage to raise our sons more like our daughters.” ― Gloria Steinem

Having awareness on VAWC is very important. You will have knowledge on what you stand for and  being brave for yourself. Stop physical abuse, domestic violence and different types of bullying.

Speak up and fight. You have the right.

Let's put an end to violence.

Let's END VAW NOW.

Environment Awareness Month

" The Earth is what we all have in common" –Wendell Berry.

Environment Awareness Month is one of the best thing that happen this month. Especially that our environment is slowly being destructed. We should be aware of our surroundings.

We can't live without the environment but the environment can live without us.

Filipino Values Month Celebration

Value with vision. Everyone should be valued. And every one of us should value one another.

November is Filipino Values Month

Bayanihan(Volunteerism), Damayan (Helping one another), Pagkamatapat (Loyalty), Hiya (Loss of face and prestige), Utang na loob (Debt of gratitude), Sariling sikap (Self-reliance), Pakikisama (Comradeship), Matulungin (Helpful), Bukas ang Palad (Philanthropic), respect for elders by the use of Po and Opo when addressing them – these are some of the array of Filipino values for which the Filipino people are known worldwide.

Through the centuries and through interactions with peoples of different cultures, Filipinos have acquired patience, filial piety, close family ties, business acumen, etc., integrating them into their way of life.

These values mirror the Filipino people’s rich heritage of history and culture. They manifest the things in life that Filipinos revere. With these values, Filipinos have coped with the vicissitudes of life.
One value that has not been emphasized in our people’s education is Isang dugo, one blood, one race, referring to our common origin in the past. This is one beautiful and endearing value that we must teach our children to help preserve the unity of our nation.

We observe the month of November as Filipino Values Month. Let us celebrate Filipino Values every day of the year. This will help us keep ourselves together as one people of one blood.

United Nations Celebration

Diversity.

Unity.

Peace.

On October 24, 1945, 51 countries came together to create the United Nations(U.N.). Its purpose was to promote peace and cooperation around the world... The event was to be observed by all member countries. United Nation Day continues to be celebrated globally.

Amidst diversity, unity was still made possible by the United Nations. Peace among countries is being exhibited and cooperation can be observed.

United Nations is very important in maintaining peace and security in the Phillipines. Especially that the country has no power to fight independently. United Nations is significant.

Teachers: Keyholders to SUCCESS

School.
Students' second home.
It is where an individual learn and develop.
And in here we can find the true heroes.
Teachers.

This October, we celebrate our Teacher's Day. The day that student should thank teachers of all their hardwork just to feed us with new knowldge and information. A simple thank you or gift is pretty much appreciated.  But students don't settle with simple things. Here comes the surprises and of courses the efforts of students just to give their teachers a wonderful day.

Don't belittle teachers. Don't say that their just teachers. You want to become a doctor? An engineer? A lawyer? Or are you already a successful professional?
In any case thank a teacher for they hold a part of the key for your success.

World Heritage Cities Solidarity Day

No one can deny that Vigan is truly a place of history and culture. A preserve site of heritage structure. With solidarity and its continuity to nurture.

Another great time to visit Vigan is during their World Heritage Cities Solidarity Day celebration every September 8. Vigan celebrates this with other cities all over the world that have their own world heritage sites.

In Vigan this special day is actually commemorated with week-long festivities aimed at strengthening pride in the history and culture of Vigan. This aim is in keeping with the long-term goal of preserving the 630 heritage structures that date back from the 18th and 19th century. Vigan’s well-preserved Spanish trading town environment has survived the test of time, including bombings during World War II which leveled the major Philippine cities of Baguio, Cebu and Manila.

The day of Solidarity is a great celebration in which can help the latest generation learn about the history of these world heritage cities. It is a fun celebration. And as part of the latest generation, are you willing to embrace the culture and preserve these heritage sites for the succeeding generations to come? Let us take part to the yearly celebration of World Heritage Cities Solidarity Day. Be proud.

Happy Schools Movement

A happy student. A happy teacher. A happy environment. A dream turned reality thanks to Happy Schools Movement.

The Department of Education (DepEd)-Region 1 had launched the “Happy Schools Movement” (HSM) to boost the efficient implementation of the K to 12 basic education curriculum in the Ilocos provinces. The movement seeks to promote every school in the region as a better and enjoyable place to study. This movement is anchored with the theme: “Paaralang Masayang Maglingkod, Tagumpay ng Bata’y Itaguyod.”

The HSM platform is a key of achieving the DepEd Region 1 vision of having a generation of responsive and cross-culture competent future builders.

As a student, this movement can help us to freely express ourselves and enjoy learning effectively. This help students to loosen up in school and not to think of schoolwork as burden. Through this movement, the learners’ full potential is given the greatest attention by creating a happier and more positive school culture. The movement aims to inculcate in the minds of pupils that school is not just a place for learning but also a place for fun and enjoyment as they enjoy what they are doing.

Indeed, happy schools movement makes a happy student.

Mirroring Myself

Another school year again begun. I didn't even noticed that our first quarter is already going to end moving on to the next quarter.
My journey so far is quite interesting for we did reportings that step by step molded us to become more confident at the same time gaining more knowledge about the Internet. The internet is a very interesting topic especially nowadays it is widely used. Knowing its history, origi, and parts was fun. But that's not all, the most exciting part was to explore the internet ourselves.
The blogging is my favorite part of this quarter. This lesson challenged my writing skills. As I post my blogs, I notice some improvements on my styles and  ways I write in every blog. I started to like blogging which I thought at first was hard but now it became easier for me.
Moving on, I will continue  posting my blogs. I will apply all the lessons about the Internet and to be responsible in using it. I am open for more explorations and discoveries in the Internet and I can't wait for more from the Internet. I am now excited for the next quarter

Longer Life: Nutrition Month 2019

Many Filipinos suffer from abnormal body mass index especially for children. They can either be underweight, overweight, or worse obese. In the other hand, during the month of July, we celebrate Nutrition Month to improve one’s health.
Image result for nutrition month 2019This year, Nutrition Month 2019 theme, “Kumain ng Wasto, at Maging Aktibo… Push natin ‘to”, tackles not only about eating right. It is about having a healthy diet, balancing nutritious food consumption and exercise, engaging in physical activities. When you consume you should expend. You should maintain doing beneficial activities for your health. As the saying goes, “Health is Wealth”. Diseases are the enemy of your health. As early as possible, prevent the onset of diseases and take care of yourself not to catch any illness.
Every school promotes optimum health through this month celebration. School canteens advocate to sell healthy foods to students and doesn’t tolerate junkfoods and softdrinks. This is a very good practice and should be maintained.
Nutrition month is an annual campaign held every July as mandated by PD 491 also known as Nutrition Act of the Philippines that aims to create greater awareness among us, Filipinos on the importance of nutrition. Eating healthy food like fruits and vegetables, and having a balance diet is important in developing one’s self participating actively in physical activities to strengthen their body.
Your health is a very important factor in your life. Eat healthy and be active in life. Promote and practice healthy lifestyle through healthy eating and being active in sports to achieve a longer life.

Earthquake: Disaster Awareness and Preparedness

The Philippines is frequently visited by earthquakes. The Philippine archipelago is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where most seismic and volcanic activities and tremors happen. Adequate awareness and preparedness on these disastrous activities should be properly done.
Image result for nsed 2019
As the alarm went off, everyone heads for duck, cover, and hold. Evacuation proceeded, towards the designated assembly point. Finally, the roll call and evaluation of casualties were executed.
People from different parts of the Philippines take part in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) that is held quarterly. These quarterly drills seek to promote disaster awareness and preparedness among Filipinos.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) conducts certain drills in preparation for numerous earthquakes happening in the Philippines especially ‘The Big One’ where the possibility of a 7.2 magnitude be generated by the 100km West Valley Fault. Once these earthquakes strike, there is a huge chance of destruction of properties and even worse, loss of lives. That is why practicing such safety measures is a must.
We can’t stop the forces of nature to strike but with great preparedness, we can arm ourselves from natural disasters. Safety is on the hands of the prepared. No lives would be lost and waste, not much casualties can be encountered, only if there is disaster awareness and preparedness.

Letter to the President

To the President of the Philippines, Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte;
Image result for president duterte
I am not a hundred percent sure that you will read this letter but I would just like to tell you some of my concerns and opinions about the administration.
First of all, I would like to thank you for all the things that you’ve done for the country. I can see major improvements and expect more for the better.

For me, you are one of the best presidents of the Philippines so far. I hope you can maintain your good governance and be a good leader to all Filipinos. As I can observe, you can lead but the problem is that many cases of extrajudicial killings, violence, and other unruly behaviors are being spread in the news and contain negative feedback on you.
Whatever rumors are out there about you, I will still support you for I know that everything that you do is for the betterment of our country. And as a young Filipino citizen, I promise to do my best for our country. You are an inspiration and I salute Sir.
